"Used extensively by Slash and many other prominent players, the Seymour Duncan APH-1 Humbucker is a warm, medium output model that can handle many styles including jazz, classic rock and slide guitar.

 

The Seymour Duncan APH-1 outputs a very round, mid concentrated tone which works well for a good number of styles, as previously mentioned. Mostly used in the neck position (but still a good bridge choice!), including well-documented use by Slash for a good few years now, this pickup has even been used in his Gibson USA signature models. The magnet of choice is an Alnico 2 type which is known for long sustain and a growling sound that has a sweet edge. Other users of this pickup include Michael Wilton of Queensryche (bridge), Tim Mahoney of 311 (neck) and Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens of the Stone Age (neck)."
